What We Do
Purvanchal Report is a digital news platform focused on the districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Our attention is on district-level stories that rarely find space in the big newspapers — administration, agricultural markets, schools and hospitals, recruitment and local politics.
Our Editorial Method — the 2+1 Rule
A story picked up from elsewhere is not published unless it is backed by two independent sources and carries one contribution of our own — background, a figure, local context or our own reporting. The condition does not apply to primary sources, ground reports and data stories, because those are original to begin with.
Corrections Policy
When we get something wrong, we do not edit it away quietly. The correction is recorded publicly beneath the story, with the date. If you spot an error in a story, write to us.
Image Sourcing
The source of every image is recorded. We do not publish photographs belonging to newspapers or news agencies — only our own, our stringers’, government, licensed or AI-generated images (clearly labelled).
